SUMMER SOUND FESTIVAL 2011 — ARVONTA

Tämä kesä huipentuu yhteen tapahtumaan — Summer Sound Festival 2011 — jossa esiintyjäkaarti on valittu täydellisesti ja jokaisen makuun löytyy ainakin yksi ulkomainen sekä kotimainen elektronisen musiikin huippu DJ. Olipa se housea tai trancea, kumpaakin on tarjolla kesäisessä Helsingin Suvilahdessa 30.7.2011. Tapahtuma alkaa jo 14:00 ja loppuu 03:30, joten varaa babyoilii tai aurinkosuojaa mukaan ;-)

Tapahtuma yhdistää elektronisen musiikin fiilistelijät ympäri Suomen, ja jo yks vilkaisu tulevaan line-uppiin saa perhosia vatsaan ja hymyn huulille! Mun henkilökohtaisii kotimaisia lemppareita, kuten Orkidea, Heikki L ja Something Good, jotka ovat luoneet meille niin monta euforista ikimuistoista tanssihetkee eri tapahtumissa tulevat varmasti räjäyttämään aurinkonpaisteisen Suvilahden!

Ulkomaisista DJ:istä puhumattakaan, Above & Beyond, joka oli viime vuoden DJ Mag:in TOP 5, joka viimeks herkisti tunnelmaa soundeillaan ja tekstillä screenillä Cliniceissä marraskuussa 2010. Sekä maailman suurimpia nimiä kuten Roger Sanchez, Robbie Rivera ja Kaskade, jotka saapuvat Suomeen ensimmäistä kertaa historiassa, mä en saisi edes mahtumaan mun kaikkia lempitrackejä heiltä tähän yhteen postaukseen!

Last November, Ahmet Sendil’s visit to UG club Playground, Helsinki, was a great success. The crowd wanted more, and now they are getting it. It is time for the round two, tomorrow night, on Friday 21.1 — Ahmet is back.

This is the man who brought electronic music in the limelight in Turkey back in the days. Ahmet has been in business for almost 20 years now, starting in 1989, back home in Turkey and slowly expanding his scene around the globe. Istanbul’s Ahmet has established his own record labels M-Vitamine and Bosphorus Underground that are very popular today, and started releasing music in 2007.

Now, as the result, Ahmet is one of the most respected DJ’s of minimal house music genre. With remarkable minimal music, he definitely has his own style. Like he says:”Anyone who listens to my new tracks on Beatport could say, yes, that’s Ahmet. I name it ‘sexy happy minimal’”. And I can’t but agree!

VICIOUS GAMES - AHMET SENDIL REMIX

Motellet — Upcider Olohuone lanseerausbileet

Aikaisemmassa postauksessa hehkutin tulevista Upcider Olohuoneen bileistä Motelletissä (Annankatu 10), jotka järjestettiin 17.12.10, ja tässä olisi sitten snadi katsaus illasta, hyvin ajoissa postattuna… Aina ei vaan valitettavasti ehdi.

Keikkaa siellä heitti The Giant Leap, Kim Herold, Laura Närhi, Jussu Pöyhönen ja Kristiina Wheeler. Tunnelma oli, juuri niin kuin luvattiin, tiivis. Päästiin kylläkin fiilistelemään Sinin kanssa vasta viimeisillä biiseillä, kun ollaan sen verran kuuluisia meidän ‘näyttävistä sisääntuloista’ — eli toisin sanoen mä saavun joka paikkaan enemmän tai vähemmän myöhässä, ja jos Sinin kanssa ollaan liikenteessä yhdessä, niin ei toivoakaan ajoissa saapumisesta. Sentään saatiin pari valokuvaa ja tietysti janon tyydytettyä Upciderin sidukoilla.

Tässä ovat tyypit kenelle muun muassa kuuluu kiitos näistä bileistä…

WINTER DAY IN ULLANLINNA

ME PLAYING BAKER IN MY OLD ADIDAS SWEATPANTS & BENETTON SWEATER

I'm not quiet sure what reserve energy I'm running on 'coz my lack of sleep is breaking all records. The weekend sucked all the power out of me. Two days in a row of HC hours of work and later on dragging myself to the regular party session. Go Demi, no party no life. I already begun to regret my decision but, obviously, once I was there, I had no power left to drag myself back home in that freezing cold weather all alone. OF course, I squeezed all my last power to dance a little, chat a little and, in the end, just to sit a lot!

I think I said my good-byes maybe ten times to everybody, got my jacket from the cloakroom.. and after going out and smoking a ciggie.. tadaa, guess what?! I returned to back to the club! The place has some sort of magnetism, can't leave before the DJ's are left, lights are on and staff are heading home as well! No wonder I call it the second home. Maybe next time I'll be wiser and go straight to sleep after a long day and a night at work. Just maybe!

MILLA LEHTO AT WORK

So after Milla Lehto, the resident DJ of the Playground, finished her set, the rest of us who were still there, continued to a friends apartment in the centre to chill-out before heading home. Which didn't happen for a while.. The chill-out session was a better success. Great group of people & a nice chit-chat - just what I needed!

Now, it's Tuesday night, me, with only few hours of sleep behind, and my very close friend Sini, made an effort to bake a cake for tomorrow's party. Iina, the youngest one in our girl-power group, was turning 21. After a few phone calls to check with more experienced bakers, like Sini's dad, on the instructions, we almost made it.. well almost doesn't count. I overdosed triple amount of sugar in the cake base so it turned out in the sugar iceberg after 30 minutes in the oven! Nice job! Didn't help but to do it all over again, both of us wrecked & sleepy were fussing around the cake, trying not to mess up with second trial. After turning the core of the cake three times upside down and downside up, throwing all fruits, jam & cream in there (obviously forgetting about a chockolate) we finally were done! It looked real sweet! Well.. maybe it wasn't quiet straight, and few bananas along with cream were falling out from the sides of the masterpiece but the cake-mission with love was completed! And that was what mattered!
I hope Iina is gonna like it as much as we do.
